Another catch up

So for those of you who didn't see my FB post the other day here is were my mum is at right now. The cancer has spread a little more than first though and it is now at a stage 3 level so she has to go in for another operation and then will have to start the dreaded chemo and also radiotherapy. As you can imagine she is gutted about having to have chemo and to go for yet another op but the chemo is mearly a precaution for the future, rather than anything really scary with this particular cancer. The surgeon pencilled her in next week for the op but Mum and Dad are going to Budapest in 2 weeks so the surgeon said she take her in a couple of day's after they come back. Not that my mum really wants to go on the holiday any more but it's a lot of money to lose plus she says my dad needs a break so they will just have to take things easier than they normally do,they are only going for 5 days anyway. The surgeon herself is just lovely and very cheeky, the other day when my mum went to get all her dressings off my dad came into the room ( wearing his Hearts FC jacket) and asked her if it was painful getting the dressing off, the surgeon without missing a beat said "Not as painful as wearing that hearts jacket" hehe!

In happier news, Sky TV have bought my two favourite ladies Rizzoli & Isles and will be showing it on the Alibi channel starting from September. Naturally I checked to see if we have that channel on our package and, thankfully, we do yippeee! Granted I've already seen season one 3 times but this time I'm forcing my mum to watch it too as I think she'll like it and the gay subtext will go completely over her head hehe! Actually talking of the gay subtext they are currently filming season 2 right now and the writers, as a nod to the gay fans, have written in to the script that Maura Isles pretends that Jane Rizzoli is her GF in order to get some guy to stop asking her out,so i guess, for that episode anyway, the subtext will be main text. Again, yipee!

I'm off to see Texas on Friday night, their playing the Barrowlands as special because Ally ( the guitarist in the band) suffered a brain haemorage last year and was in a coma for 3 months and now that he is on the road to recovery, he said he wanted to play the Barrowlands. So it will be a great gig. Plus Sharleen Spiteri is just.......
